The Civil Service Commissioner decided last night (Saturday) to suspend Prime Minister's advisor Farah Lerner from her position - for a period of four months. This was after receiving an opinion from the State Attorney's Office.
Lerner, 38, the Prime Minister's advisor on legislative and Knesset matters, was interrogated along with her husband on Chol Hamoed Sukkot under caution by Lahav 433 investigators, on suspicion of helping to promote issues related to her husband, Avi Lerner's public relations office, and committing offenses of fraud and breach of trust.
Following the decision, Lerner will not be able to participate in government meetings, and for the next four months she will receive only half her salary.
Farah Lerner's attorney, Attorney Dr. Yaakov Weinrot, responded: "Suspension is usually the best course of action in the event of an investigation. In the current case, we have a lot to say about the suspension, but at this stage we are focusing all our efforts on bringing the truth to light, and we have no doubt that at the end of the inquiries and investigations, Farah Lerner will be cleared of all suspicion.".
