Gilad Shalit wrote a letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, asking him to demand the release of prisoner Jonathan Pollard as part of the diplomatic negotiations. This is reported by the newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.

""These days I cannot help but feel the great pain of Jonathan Pollard, who has been in prison for about 29 years - more than five times the time I was in captivity, and this in the United States, our great friend. Recently, the State of Israel released about 80 terrorists with blood on their hands as a gesture to Abu Mazen and at the request of the United States. Now, according to media reports, the United States is officially calling on the State of Israel to continue releasing additional terrorists as part of the fourth wave," Shalit wrote.

""I am addressing you now, in the name of the same value of saving lives that was before your eyes then, and asking you to make it clear to the Americans that before anything else, Jonathan Pollard must be released. After so many murderers have been released at the request of the US, it is no longer possible to imprison the cry of the entire people for Jonathan's immediate release," adds Shalit.
