Sold: The lighting of the gaon Rabbi Yaakov Meir Schechter, one of the leaders of Breslov Hasidism, sold for approximately $92,000. Unlike previous years, when the lighting took place in the courtyard of the Ulmi Banot Yerushalayim, this year the lighting of the gaon Rabbi Schechter was moved to the Zofnik Buildings Plaza in the Mea Shearim neighborhood of Jerusalem.

When the sale of the lighting rights began, two governors offered high amounts - ranging from $45,000 to $55,000. Since the lighting was important to both governors, it was decided that they would both purchase the rights together for $92,000.

The lighting of the Gabd of the Haredi Eda, the Grand Master of the Order, Weiss, which took place in the courtyard of the Guardians of the Walls, was sold for $8,000.
At the lighting in Vizhenitz, the Rebbe's lighting was sold for $10,000. The winner: Governor Yaakov Adler.
