Minister Ofir Akunis, whose appointment as Minister of Science, Technology and Space was approved by the government yesterday, wants to change the name of the ministry.

According to a report in Walla! NEWS, Akunis wants to change the name of the ministry to "Ministry of Science and Technology," and drop the word "space," due to the ridicule that the previous minister in the position, Danny Danon, received. The decision requires Netanyahu's consent and the government's approval.

The ministry's name was given when Yaakov Perry held the position, but it was only with Danon's appointment as minister in the ministry that pictures and jokes began to appear on social media that ridiculed the minister and his ministry.
