The humiliation continues at the entrance to the Western Wall: This morning (Wednesday), two main gates leading to the Western Wall Plaza were closed again, including the entrance gate from the Jewish Quarter - a gate through which thousands of people enter the Western Wall Plaza every day.

The closing of the gates today joins similar incidents in recent months. The reason for this is a shortage of security guards at the Civil Intelligence company – the company that secures the Western Wall gates. Despite the police's efforts with the company, the company has not yet managed to increase the pool of security guards, so in the past two months, entrance gates where those entering the gates are checked have been closed from time to time. The shortage of manpower is causing disruption to the operation of the gates and security checks, and the aggravation this morning resulted in the police being forced to close two gates at once.

At the closed entry points, loud clashes broke out today between visitors, including women, children, and adults, who expressed anger at the fact that they had to shuffle far to the inspection gate located at the garbage gate.

Following the events, the Western Wall Heritage Foundation is demanding that the police terminate their contract with the company 'Civil Intelligence', so that the public who come to visit the Western Wall will not be forced to encounter additional gate closures.
