Does music bring people closer to Judaism? Well, the answer is yes. But journalist Yedidia Meir provides proof on his Facebook page.
""This photo was taken yesterday in the United States," says Yedidia, recounting the story of the alliance:
""A few months ago, a couple of converts from Long Island called singer Mordechai Ben David and informed him: In a few months, a son will be born to us, God willing, and you will be the godfather.
He thought they were working on him, but then they called again, after the birth, and invited him to the wedding.
It turns out that his music greatly influenced them and brought them closer to Judaism, and they decided that it was on the singer's knees that their son would enter the covenant of Abraham, our father, and so it was.
They also named the circumcised baby "David," after the godfather's father, the late Rabbi David Verdiger. "Mazal Tov.".
Yedidia adds: "I personally would give him the part of the blessings, just to hear him say them...""
