Attorney Dov Halbertal is considering filing a defamation lawsuit against journalist Yedidia Meir, following the column he published in the latest issue of the newspaper 'Besheva' under the headline "Don't Give Them Microphones.".
The article focused on publicists and media figures who mainly make provocations for ratings purposes.
At the beginning of the article, Attorney Dov Halbertal, an ultra-Orthodox publicist with extremist views, was cited as an example of the phenomenon, who wrote the article "The Festival of Revenge," which refers to the commemoration of the kidnapped boys of the 14th century.

Halbertal responded to the article in an interview on Galei Israel Radio, and stated as mentioned that he is considering filing a defamation lawsuit against Yedidia Meir following the things written against him in the article.
""Yedidya knows me. He doesn't just rely on the Internet. He relies on the Internet to come out as a liar without having a backup problem...", said Halbertal.
Following this, Halbertal was asked if he was going to sue Yedidia Meir and replied: "I am considering these things, because beyond the demagogy of how he presents the article I wrote about the abductees, his 'delivery' in the article, this is also a complete false representation.".
And what will Yedidah Meir do in the face of the announcement? Probably what he recommended to the public in the article: ignore it.
""If you want to change this reality," Meir wrote, "know that it's really easy. Just ignore it. If you think you're punishing the various liberals when you write a juicy response against them - you're wrong. You're giving them a reward.".
Meanwhile, Attorney Itamar Ben-Gvir rejected at noon a request made to him live by Attorney Dov Halbertal to represent him in the defamation lawsuit against journalist Yedidia Meir.
In response to the proposal, Ben Gvir clarifies that he will not represent Halbertal, and even noted that there are other lawyers, affiliated with the extreme left, who might be happy to take on the task.
""I believe that Meir is protected by the truth I spoke, and Dov Halbertal must consider his words again and again and understand that he is doing great harm," said Ben Gvir. "Indeed, Halbertal does not represent anyone, and I am not sure that he even represents himself, but I believe that there are those who hear his blatant words and his hatred against settlers, and I mean our enemies. In fact, whenever there is a murder of a Jew and Halbertal accuses us of the murder, he is in fact aiding Hamas and giving them a boost.".
Regarding the body of the proposal, Ben Gvir said: "I only represent cases that I believe in, and want to fight for. Sorry, but Halbertal's statements really, really don't align with my beliefs. Of course, I will not represent him, certainly not when he is told the truth - not even for a fortune.".
