Samsung has launched a new project called The Safety Truck.
The Safety Truck Project presents a solution to a situation that every driver probably encounters: You are behind a huge truck or semi-trailer, traveling at low speed on a two-lane main road and want to overtake, but cannot do so because your field of vision is blocked.
The safety truck is designed to solve this problem: the technology developed by Samsung for trucks includes a pair of wireless cameras located at the front of the truck, while in the rear there are 4 screens attached to each other, to which live video from the pair of cameras is transmitted.
This allows drivers behind the truck to see the oncoming lane and decide whether it is safe to overtake. The pair of cameras also include night vision capabilities, so the technology will also be relevant when driving at night.
