Traditional lightings in Meron However, are expected to take place this year as early as Saturday evening.

Judging by past years, it does not appear that hundreds of thousands of Israeli children will respond to the Chief Rabbinate's request.

The postponement of the school vacation raises concerns that transportation companies will have difficulty providing buses for all immigrants to Meron, as they will have to transport school students as usual.
