Violent fight: The CEO of the 'HaShomerim' organization in Bnei Brak, Haim Roter, was attacked last night on Hazon Ish Street at the corner of Dessler Street by a bus driver.
Rutter, who was driving his private car, stopped at a crosswalk to allow pedestrians to cross, when the driver of bus line 240 honked his horn several times behind him. At one point, the bus driver got out and knocked on the window of Rutter's car. When he opened the window, the bus driver sprayed tear gas in his face. A fight broke out at the scene and the "Guards" volunteers who were called to the scene detained the bus driver until the police arrived. "During the fight, the "Guards" members jumped on the bus driver, took the tank out of it and emptied it on him...", says an eyewitness.
The bus driver said: "He played with me on the road on several streets in the city, and when he stopped at a crosswalk to allow people to cross the road, I honked at him. He didn't continue driving, so I got out and sprayed tear gas at him.".
Chaim Rotter presents a different version: "I saw the driver get off the bus in a rage. He knocked on my car window, and when I opened it, he sprayed tear gas at me. For about fifteen minutes I was unable to do anything, until the police arrived at the scene.".
The bus remained standing on the road, and traffic jams formed in the area. The police officers who arrived at the scene looked for a bus driver who could move the bus. A United Hatzalah volunteer with a bus license carried out the task, and traffic flowed again.
After a conversation between the two drivers, they shook hands and decided not to file a police report, not before the bus driver apologized and promised not to do it again.
