Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon addressed the new career of Shula Zaken, former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's chief of staff, on his personal Twitter account and Facebook page this morning (Monday).
""There is no limit to cynicism," Ya'alon wrote. "I read that Shula Zaken, a convicted felon who was part of a corrupt system, is becoming a cultural heroine and will star in an advertising campaign for young people. Someone here has gone crazy.".
Yesterday it was announced that Shula Zaken was chosen to star in a campaign for a new furniture chain for young people.
The campaign will document an old woman helping her son move, in light of the recent events that have happened to her. During the move, the mother helps her son furnish the house, while also revealing his sources of financing.
Alongside Zaken, two other actors will also play the role of 'police investigators'.
The advertising agency promoting the project explains that while this is a surprising choice, there is no doubt that it will quickly promote the message of a new furniture chain for a young population at a discounted price.
Shula Zaken was released at the end of January from the Neve Tirza women's prison where she was serving her sentence as part of a plea bargain. Zaken admitted to bribery and money laundering offenses, and provided information about her employer - former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.
Her testimony helped the State Attorney's Office convict Olmert in the "money envelopes" affair.
