The journalist and political commentator Nadav Perry announced today (Tuesday) his departure from Channel 10.

Perry wrote on Twitter: "I have now informed my friends at News 10 that I am leaving the company and embarking on a new path. In the last 17 years, I have covered seven different congresses. Time to turn to new challenges.".

Until recently, he broadcast "Hamate" on Saturday night, and after his retirement, the broadcast will be moved up to Saturday. The announcement comes in the wake of the announcements about the acquisition of Channel 10.

Perry, 35, began his career in the field during his military service at the IDF Radio, and then as a reporter at the military station.
In 2006, he began working as a parliamentary correspondent for Channel 10 News. In addition to this role, he hosts the program "Zog o Pert" on the Knesset Channel with Amit Segal.
In a letter he sent to News 10 employees, Perry wrote, among other things: "After quite a few years in the media - all of them as a reporter, the vast majority of them as a political reporter - the feeling of exhaustion has become increasingly acute. I have decided to embark on a new path, and if not now - when.".

""I am saying goodbye to the journalistic profession, which was for me military service, a profession, a hobby, a way of life and a great love, and I also say goodbye to you – my good and beloved friends at News 10. Saying goodbye to you is the hardest thing in this story, but the knowledge that I am leaving at the company's most beautiful professional hour is encouraging and comforting. I owe a great debt of gratitude to Yossi Warshavsky and Golan Yochpaz – two people I would quietly place in any cockpit.".

News 10 CEO Golan Yochpaz said: "After a long journey together, a journey that began 17 years ago on Galei Tzahal, I say goodbye with sadness, and with much appreciation and love to Nadav - one of our most outstanding journalists.

""Perry managed to change the way and language of parliamentary and political coverage on News 10 – I think outside the company as well – and made the field fascinating, clear, and polished, one that doesn't take itself with abysmal seriousness where it has no place.

""The last election campaign, in which Perry took a significant part in the daily coverage and presenting the 'central headquarters', brought News 10 to record highs in viewership and trust among the viewing public and made the event strategic in terms of strengthening News 10 and Channel 10 - and Nadav played a crucial role in this. Good luck from all the members of the Rose House, at News 10 and Channel 10.".

His colleagues from all media outlets wished him success in his future endeavors.

Perry later announced: "An exciting day without a doubt, a lot of excitement, especially from the wave of reactions that surprised me greatly. Since I left a few question marks, here's the direction.".

In the coming days, I will join the Delek Drilling and Avner Gas Partnerships as the Director of External Relations and Communications.

After fascinating, enjoyable and fulfilling years in journalism, it is time to move on to the world of action. The Israeli gas revolution has fascinated me as someone who has followed it with interest in recent years. I believe in the importance and necessity of local gas for the development of the Israeli economy and the improvement of Israel's strategic position in the region, and I am proud to join this industry.

"In the coming years, I believe, it will be possible to develop the energy industry in Israel for the benefit of all Israeli citizens, the economy and the state.".
