Heavy smoker: A 28-year-old Jerusalem resident was caught on the eve of Independence Day by customs officers at Ben Gurion Airport, while trying to smuggle about 90 packs of cigarettes without a customs declaration.

The young man, who had returned from the grave of Rabbi Nachman in Uman, attempted to pass through the green lane without declaring that he was bringing taxable goods, arousing the suspicion of customs officials. He was taken aside for a routine inspection, during which only a few packages were discovered.

When the customs officers saw that the young man was hiding something, they decided to conduct a comprehensive inspection of all his belongings, during which the remaining smuggled packages were found hidden in his suitcase and in a guitar case, which was of course empty of guitars, but full of cigarettes.

The cigarettes were confiscated. Goodbye to the guitar.
