On Sunday, after a dramatic meeting at the Bar Association, the lists for the race for the elections to the Israel Bar Association were finally approved. Elections to the Chamber are held every four years, and the next elections will be held in about a month and a half.

This time, for the first time, there is a cohesive and cohesive religious-Haredi list, running for both the national committee and the Tel Aviv and Central districts. The 'Faith in the Profession' list includes Haredi and religious attorneys who are active in both the legal and public spheres, and represent all strata of the religious and Haredi public.

The candidates for the position of chairman of the bar are, among others, Attorney Doron Barzilai, who was chairman of the bar during the last term, and Attorney Efi Naveh, who headed the Tel Aviv District and the center of the Bar Association and brought about welcome changes during the last term.

The only religious-Haredi list running for both the national committee and the Tel Aviv and Central District is called 'Faith in the Profession', and it has received the encouragement and blessing of many public figures in the religious and Haredi public.

Its leaders are active attorneys in both the legal and public spheres. The list is headed by Attorney Yossi Weizman, Chairman of the Hotzlaff Committee at the Bar Association and Chairman of the Liaison Office of the Bar Association; with him are Attorney Shlomo Linzer, a member of the National Council of the Bar Association of Israel; Menachem Moshkowitz, an attorney for the Degel Hatorah faction in Jerusalem; Edi Soubry, CEO of the Legal Forums website; Avraham Yustman, Deputy CEO of the KMAH Foundation; Rafi Asraf, and several other active and well-known attorneys.

On the 'Faith in the Profession' list in the Tel Aviv and Central Districts, Attorneys Moshe Morgenstern, Zvi Vishingard, Shahar Bakshi and Attorney David Isaacson are running.

The lists submitted to the Elections Committee about two weeks ago were approved on Sunday, as stated, and the entire list members were approved by the committee.

The importance of a religious-Haredi list in the Bar Association takes on a new significance in these elections due to the number of religious and Haredi lawyers who have joined the profession in recent years. There is no doubt that first and foremost, attention must be paid to the professional aspect of the Bar, in which members of the list have been active for several years, even without official positions, but the ethical and social aspects of the nature of the Bar's activities are also very important to religious and Haredi lawyers.

Some of the bureau's activities are expressed in seminars and professional meetings, which until now have not been adapted to the observant public - both in terms of the content of the seminars and their nature.

The possibility of integrating into the Bar's institutions will allow thousands of religious and ultra-Orthodox lawyers to express their voices. It is important to note that in recent discussions, non-religious lawyers also raised the need to give weight to the religious public in the Bar, just as other sectors receive their voices in it.

In recent months, the list has been formed and the candidates who head the 'Faith in the Profession' list have been carefully selected, with the goal that they will indeed come from all strata of the religious and ultra-Orthodox public and will be people of action who see their role as a first-rate public mission.

The responses received even before the 'Faith in the Profession' list was officially announced to be running for the elections were sympathetic and full of encouragement and support.

The hope of those at the head of the list is that the religious and ultra-Orthodox legal community will rally to support the list this time, with the aim of leaving their mark on the bar's activities in the upcoming term.
