The incitement that was broadcast on the program "Independence at Night" on IDF Radio on the night of Independence Day, about the desire to "dilute" the Haredim, but the problem is that "they have the most disgusting taste, it must be terribly rancid," because they are not tasty and "smell like Kneidlach" - provokes angry reactions among the Haredi public, and stirs up social media.
The ultra-Orthodox surfers, who have already learned the power of social media, are attacking, defending, and above all, cynical. Many surfers have changed their personal profiles to a plate of Kneidlach.
• Incitement in the Galatians: "I would like to dilute the Haredim, but the taste must be disgusting""
Yechiel Radotsky, an ultra-Orthodox who served in the IDF and is considered one of the stars of the social network, posted a cynical status, in the spirit of the Independence Day declarations: "I, Yechiel Radotsky, stinky, eat Kneidlach. And thanks to Galei Izahal for reminding me of this.".
The sentence went from status to status symbol, and dozens of Haredim posted statuses in a similar vein on social media, which were shared on the Dosim Project Facebook page, under the hashtag # "thinners from the field," as a parody of the Galatians slogan "Reporting from the field.".
Radotsky later posted a detailed post, in which he wrote: "I'm sitting and waiting for condemnations along the lines of the repeated condemnations about the price tag and nothing happens. The only thing that happened was the response of Galei Tzahal because it's a satire program. Forgive me for saying this, it's satire that recalls the worst periods in history. It's simply a statement that in the context of another sector would be considered incitement to murder. Even if it were just Radio Hadbar, it would be shocking, but when it comes to a channel that supposedly represents IDF soldiers, it's even more terrible.".
Radotsky poses a pointed question: "At a time when they are trying to integrate the Haredim into Israeli society, I have to understand, is this integration? Is this the satire that will bring us to the IDF? Is such satire normal?""
""The Haredim are the run-over eskopa""
Many surfers expressed shock and disgust at the statements, and called on the commander of the GLA to dismiss the presenters and issue a clear apology.
""Stinky? Such disgusting incitement, it stinks," one wrote. "And if I can't eat Kniedlach, then can I be thinned?" asked another.
A secular surfer, in fact, wrote in response: "I am Michal Julian, I am sure I have no taste for Kneidelach. In addition, I am not rotten like the wretches who have lost all morality, values, and purpose, who are at Goebbels' spiritual disposal, and for some reason are sure that they are enlightened.".
Surfer David Dror wrote: "Shit, the Haredim are the run-over scourge of Israeli society. You can say anything about us and the world will act as it is. That damned lieutenant colonel said, 'I want the Haredim to die.' So what? Nonsense. She was reprimanded, her company commander called and did what she wanted on the phone. Gabi Gazit calls for 'imprisoning the Haredim,' 'disconnecting them from electricity and water,' and nothing. So the station was fined. By the way, the Knei Yadla (in my opinion) is bland and tasteless to eat, but it is by no means stinky. There are several foods from several different denominations (no matter the names) whose foods far surpass the Knei Yadla in their stench, but the broadcasters' heads would be dizzy from the speed at which they would be thrown off the station if they dared to make a fuss and whine about these denominations.".
I decided to eat dumplings and stink.
Ben Beni wrote: "I served 6 years in the IDF, 3 years on active duty and 3 years in the regular army. Since my release, I decided to eat Kneadlich and stink. I would have continued to stink in my humble corner, but thanks to 'Gale Tzahal' I became a celebrity...""
And Shmulik Avraham wrote: "I used to not like Kneidlach and I always found myself outside the camp at family meals, at the soup stage. But I didn't know that a day would come when I would eat Kneidlach to my heart's content and still feel proud of it. The Galtz editorial team - my mother sends you a huge thank you. What her 20 years of work failed to do, you did with a few tactless words.".
There were those who chose to upload pictures of homemade Kneidlach, and explain to the Galtsenki that they don't understand true Jewish taste.
The activity does not end online. Activists of the 'Dosim' project have contacted all relevant authorities, with a complaint about Noam Zinman and Tamar Amit-Yosef - the program's presenters. Dosis promises to continue working to create buzz around the affair, in order to prevent similar cases from recurring.
Of course, it's impossible without a little humor, so we've brought you some of the statuses and memes flooding the internet, and there's already an event on Dosim's Facebook: "The Kneidlach Protest - Stop the Incitement in the GLA.".
""They stink because they eat Kneidlach?""
The storm erupted this morning after the panel members on the military radio station discussed animal cruelty and vegetarianism last night. One of the participants responded: "As far as I'm concerned, I would really eat human meat, human meat, for fun because animals are not meant to be harmed. Let's thin out the population, that would be great.".
The presenter asked: "Who, for example? Because it's a terribly problematic combination, it has to be someone you want to kill and you don't like and B: someone who doesn't put you off eating?" - and the panelist replied: "That's exactly the paradox, because the people whose population I would most like to thin out are the Haredim, but they probably have the most disgusting taste, it must be terribly rancid.".
""Because it's kosher," Man Dehu commented, and his predecessor agreed: "Kosher is the most disgusting, kosher restaurants are disgusting restaurants." All this when the waitress asks him to clarify things and even comments: "They stink because they eat Kneidlach?""
Udi Yerushalmi – Chief of Staff and spokesman for the Galatians, responded today to Haredim10:
""The things said on the program were not said at the behest of Gali Tzahal and were out of place. Immediately after the words were said, broadcaster Galtz clarified that this was a humor and satire program and that there was no intention to harm the Haredi public. We apologize to anyone who found themselves offended.".
