This is the sad story of Joseph Sotsek, known to his friends as Joey, who suffers from an extremely rare disease called 'Stone Man Syndrome'.
The disease damages the body's tissues, tendons and muscles, turning them into bone. Joey has now decided to reveal his story in front of the camera, thereby raising awareness of the disease.
It turns out that one in two million people worldwide suffer from stone syndrome, and to date, a total of about 800 cases have been reported.
The hix website quotes Suchenek as saying: "To tell you the truth, I don't know how I'm standing here telling you my story. I don't know how my heart keeps beating. Even when the odds are against me - it still beats... even when I'm my own worst enemy.".
Joey is planning a series of YouTube videos. The first video has already received millions of views, and many websites have cited the special man as 'inspirational.'.
