The gratitude of the residents of the Har Nof neighborhood: Traffic policeman, Sergeant Yitzhak Weizman, who was the first policeman to arrive at the scene of the massacre and engaged the terrorists in battle at the Bnei Torah synagogue, neutralizing one of the terrorists who carried out the murderous massacre and was wounded by gunfire in the leg, had a daughter born to him at a good hour.

An ad posted in the neighborhood stated that "as part of our gratitude for his dedication, we are organizing to collect donations and gifts. Please send donations and gifts by the 25th of Shevat.".

A special box was also placed in the neighborhood for donations and gifts, on which was written: "Gratitude to Police Officer Itzik Weizman, who was injured in the bloody attack in our neighborhoods.".

After his release from the hospital, Major Yitzhak Weizman came to Rabbi Kanievsky to receive his blessing, and recounted to him how he had harmed the terrorists and assisted in their elimination.

""I was on the motorcycle at the other end of the city and arrived quickly to hit the terrorists and save the worshippers," Weizman told the police. "I shot at one terrorist and killed him, I also shot at the other and wounded him. I acted out of a desire to save people.".

The next day, the murderer described what had happened to his family, from his hospital bed. They then gave the description to Channel 10:

At around 7:00 AM, Weizmann received a report on the communications network about a shooting incident at a synagogue in the Har Nof neighborhood. He quickly got on his police motorcycle and sped toward the scene at a speed of about 140 kilometers per hour.

According to his description of the sequence of events, he arrived within minutes and at the entrance of the synagogue he heard shouting and realized that the terrorists had run out of ammunition. At the entrance he noticed a wounded man crawling out with his last strength, noticed a paramedic who had arrived in the area and asked him to treat the wounded man. In the process, he went inside and tried to make contact with the terrorists.

As he approached another wounded man, he was shot at from the synagogue window. He fired back while moving the wounded man away. The policeman managed to hit one of the terrorists twice with accurate fire, wounding him.

At this time, Zidan Seif arrived along with another policewoman. They stood at the corners of the synagogue entrance and prepared to enter. Then shouts of "Allahu Akbar" were heard from inside the building, after which the terrorist ran and charged at the two policemen. Both of them fired accurate volleys at him and managed to hit him.

The terrorist was hit by the bullets and began to collapse. While falling, he continued to shoot and fatally hit police officer Zidan Seif, who was killed, in addition to two bullets that hit Weizman's thigh.

The day after the attack, Weizman told his family that he felt blows to his legs as a result of the impact, and fell between the cars, losing a lot of blood.

At this point, the second terrorist emerged from the synagogue, holding a butcher knife in his hand, wounded by the gunshot Weizman fired at him as he attempted to make contact at the beginning of the incident. A police officer who had arrived at the scene a few seconds earlier shot him, neutralizing the terrorist.
