The pressure continues: The heads of the 'Yashchakr Bahalich' chain received a message today (Tuesday) from the chain's management: "We are removing responsibility due to the situation that has arisen and is worsening.".
As published yesterday inHaredim10, Earlier this week, Rabbi Elchanan Weisbord, head of the chain, announced the closure of 17 out of 32 branches due to financial distress.
So far, the heads of kollels of about 700 avrechim have received the message. The message was delivered to the heads of kollels, Rabbis Alper, Montag, Kadosh, Schneider, and others.
The branches that, according to the official announcement, will be closed this summer:
The branch in Brachim has 80 students.
Ramat Beit Shemesh 70 avrechim - in two kollels.
Bnei Brak - Two kollels headed by Rabbi Moshe Yehuda Schneider, the brotherhood of the Rabbi Steinman.
The branch in Elad has 30 members.
The branch in Netivot has 60 members, led by the community rabbi, Rabbi Moel Montag.
Apparently, the management intends to convey the message to other heads of the group within the next 24 hours.
One of the heads of the kollelim, with whom we spoke, says: "We hope for good news. Perhaps we will take upon ourselves the responsibility of leading the kollel for the coming month, until salvation comes. We are strengthening the hands of Rabbi Weisbord, who did everything he could. With us, we will begin the time as usual and hope for God's salvation. Tomorrow, the head of the kollel will enter the ranks of the great men of Israel.".
Those close to Rabbi Weisbord believe that the moves are intended to put pressure on donors, so that they will save the network from collapse.
