Even if it's absurd, even if there's no precedent for things, even if they sound unrealistic - someone has to say them.
Yes, someone has to.
And that someone (if there are no people – try to be someone) – is me!
Listen, all Haredi members of Knesset.
Who are you, members of Knesset?
Isn't that what we are, all the voters?.
Let me tell you a few things that come from my pen, but they express the heartbeat of all members of the Haredi community.
From term to term, from year to year, we understand more and more how much the secular, sick state is not our fortress. The closer we get to its core, the more we see how different we are. And if we don't take care of ourselves – nothing will be in our hands.
An ultra-Orthodox person is a Ben Torah. Even if he currently works for a living, the Torah is at the forefront of his mind, the commandments and good deeds are a candle to his feet, the Jewish appearance is his appearance and his Jewish conduct will accompany him throughout the day...
For years we have tried to come, assimilate, stick together and be seen within the Israeli public. They have never been afraid to see us (look how many supported Lapid who dared to say what they think). They are constantly trying to throw us away from them and get rid of everything we represent. And if they are willing to add us to their ranks, it is only because we are useful to them.
We strive to be in the Knesset and in the government for one thing: to allow our people to continue to study Torah and to glorify and to keep the commandments. The right has messengers, the left has overseers, the Torah, if we do not join in, will have no gatekeepers.
In today's situation, it doesn't seem like we will be able to strengthen the goal. We are fighting and bickering within ourselves, we are dividing our parties into fragments, we are fighting each other nonstop. We are competing with each other without respite.
One of us has to say enough. One of us has to roll up our sleeves.
The left camp will do its thing and pull to the left, the right camp will strive to the right.
And we will take care of the world of Torah. We will make sure that the voice of Torah is heard in our land, and then we will succeed in everything we do.
See what the polls say? They are shattering our forces to the rock and not without reason, our success is our unity. A united people of Israel is a successful and exalted people of Israel.
Let's put our differences aside, let's join hands. Let's prove to the people of Israel, who are in trouble and captivity, what their leaders are capable of achieving.
Let all representatives of the Haredi public sit together, come from a clean place, overcome the unnecessary barriers.
I know that at this moment I made you, dear members of Knesset, stop reading, but I suggest you continue, because there is good news in what I am saying.
Representatives of Haredi Judaism, are you afraid for your position because of honor? I assure you, faithfully, that you will not lose your honor, this will honor you more than anything. Among us, we do not value the height of a chair. Among us, we value the bodyguards of the Torah.
Are you rightly afraid for your salary? Let's take all the money from the fights, the entire election budget, if we don't fight and don't compete - we won't need it, a neutral person will distribute it as salaries to those who give up and don't sit in the Knesset and there will still be a surplus. (Perhaps even the public budget given for the elections - it would be better for us to distribute it this way, because with us it would come from advertising that helps with the elections).
Whoever is worthy of giving up his throne will also receive a fixed monthly salary and will also receive the entire crown of the Torah on his head.
We have no place in this world for controversy. We have no place in the world of Torah for Game of Thrones.
If we have the Holy Torah in our hearts, let us come out to defend it.
I know how to hold a pen, someone else knows how to organize and do it. Stand up, the neutral people, from Shas, from the People with Us, from Aguda Mes, from every Haredi party that exists and that does not yet exist and who knows if it will not. Stand up, heroes of the people, stand up and do something.
They determined that anyone who wanted the crown of Torah would sign a petition.
Who will be our representatives? I have plenty of ideas for that too, when the time comes. With mutual concessions and with the understanding that we are all for the sake of the Holy Torah – we will succeed in reaching an understanding.
Those who find themselves in the Knesset will be representatives of all the Haredi parties. All in one faction. A faction that will not be pulled to their own advantage by the right or the left, as there are others, but rather by the good of the holy yeshivas (all of them, without distinction) and the good of the public.
Am I innocent?
I am sure that in this way the entire Haredi public will go to the elections (in contrast to our current situation, which is characterized by division and disintegration, where many people claim: neither this nor that!). This way we will receive more mandates and be able to exert more influence. I am sure that in this way, people with values from other parties will also move to our united party, who will see that we are telling the truth and understand the significance of upholding the values of the Torah. (This way we will also succeed in making the name of God holy and bringing many more people who have lost their way to the path of the Torah).
In these days, when the sword is turned against us, axes are slicing our bodies, Molotov cocktails are dropped on our heads, rocks are thrown at our vehicles, the wolves around us are on us to prey on us, (and are still planning to do the same thing against us, against us) in these days, let us remove from our path the terrible rifts among us, the divisions and boycotts within us, the hatred of our brothers and the division within our people.
We are all anxious about our fate, we are all anxious about our people, we are all anxious about our Torah and our yeshivahs.
Let us all vote, as one man with one heart, for the united party: the Haredi Party.
And if you raised an eyebrow at reading these things and said to yourself: Only naivety could lead to writing such a column. The Sephardim within themselves do not get along, and so do the Ashkenazim, isn't this a dream and who will make it come true? – know that indeed all of this was illuminated for me in a dream, but it has already happened in the world that dreams have become reality...
If we don't believe in the truth and take action, it certainly won't happen.
