The 22-year-old Arab driver from Klanswe, who ran over a 93-year-old man last night (Thursday), a passerby who was passing by the 'Hapeleg' demonstration at the Geha intersection in Bnei Brak - was questioned with a warning.

Yesterday, the driver ran over a pedestrian while continuing to drive, and immediately turned herself in. The driver then sought medical treatment.

According to the police, today the suspect driver was questioned with a warning at the Bnei Brak police station for assault causing damage, violating several traffic regulations, and causing a public nuisance.

At the end of the investigation, she was released under restrictive conditions.

The investigation continues.

According to a report by Lee Ayish on Channel I24, the driver said during her interrogation: "I was caught in a situation with everyone around me. They called me a terrorist, an Arab. I told them to move away or I would spray pepper spray. I went outside and stood next to the car. When I took the gas, someone gave me a box in the face. They pushed me against the door and I got hit. Only then did I pull out the gas and spray.

""Everyone started moving the car and tried to attack me. I got in the car and ran away. I didn't see that there was a person on the side, he jumped on the car. Then, when I heard a boom, I stopped. I went to the police and told them that I heard a boom in the car.".

Attorney Amir Natour, the driver's defense attorney, said: "What was done in my client's case is a media lynching that has no basis in reality. It is enough to watch the videos and understand that she is the victim and not the culprit. She was brutally attacked and surrounded by a crowd that panicked and attacked. All she did was escape the scene safely.".

""Her immediate release speaks for itself. She is a citizen of the State of Israel, albeit an Arab, but a citizen of the state that respects its laws.".

Earlier, Channel 14 reported that the 22-year-old driver was released on the grounds that she requested medical treatment, and will therefore be summoned for questioning at a later date.

It was also noted at the time that initial steps were taken to clarify the circumstances of the incident, and that it is expected to be investigated by the Tel Aviv District Traffic Examiners Unit.

The incident occurred during a demonstration, when a passing vehicle struck a pedestrian, who was not among the protesters. Medical officials evacuated the injured person for medical treatment, and his condition was described as moderate.

The investigation into the circumstances of the incident is ongoing.
