Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir visited the Gaza Strip today (Sunday) with Southern Command Commander Major General Yaniv Asor, Gaza Division Commander Brigadier General Liron Batitto, brigade commanders, and battalion commanders.
During the visit, the Chief of Staff toured the outposts deep in the Gaza Strip, conducted a situation assessment, heard operational reviews from the brigade commanders, and held a commanders' dialogue.
Zamir: "The multi-scene reality continues to be a key shaper. The IDF is strengthening operational control on the ground and continues to erode Hamas's power. We will continue to act until we achieve the goal of disarming Hamas - this is a goal we are not giving up on. Throughout the war, the IDF acted with strength and intelligence in near and far scenes - we are alert and ready to act decisively wherever and whenever we are required - from the Gaza Strip, through Lebanon to Tehran.".
""IDF fighters are standing at the forefront of the frontline defense of Israeli citizens - here in the Gaza Strip, the fighters continue to cleanse the area and eliminate terrorists. I have approved plans to continue to deepen the damage to Hezbollah, we will continue to eliminate every terrorist organization in Judea and Samaria, and I continue to conduct a situation assessment on the issue of Iran from here. IDF fighters are operating simultaneously and vigorously on all fronts until every threat is removed.
""This morning, while visiting the Gaza Strip, a serious attack occurred in the center of the country. I send my condolences to the family of the deceased and wish a full recovery to the injured. We will reach out to everyone, and close the circle on anyone who threatens the security of our residents. We will continue to work to eradicate terrorism in all sectors and to strengthen the defense of our communities and citizens.".
""Our forces operate proactively and offensively in all arenas - what is true for Gaza is also true for other arenas. We are focused on thwarting threats as they arise and disrupting terrorist organizations, here in the Gaza Strip and in all areas of combat. The yellow line allows us security control and the ability to go on the offensive when necessary - we operate offensively against any attempt by Hamas to gain strength and against any violation of the agreement by it.".
""We are in a challenging reality, facing a multi-pronged threat. However, our forces are prepared and are on high alert on all fronts. The IDF is prepared to return to combat and is ready for whatever is required until the mission is completed and the security of the residents of the State of Israel is ensured.".
