During a protest demonstration by the faction that took place last night (Monday), which included roadblocks and attacks on police officers in Jerusalem, the police and YSM fighters operating at the scene identified a hostile gathering around an IDF soldier who had gotten off a blocked bus.
According to the police, "rioters began attempting to harm the soldier, cursing, spitting at him, and throwing various objects. The riot police and police officers determinedly made contact, immediately broke into the excited crowd, and through professional use of riot control measures, repelled the rioters, isolated the soldier, and safely rescued him from the scene.".
The police say: "This is a serious incident that joins other cases of attempts to harm uniformed personnel during protests in recent times.
""The Israel Police views with great seriousness any attempt to harm IDF soldiers, police officers, and security forces in general. The Jerusalem District Police will continue to act with a heavy hand and zero tolerance against troublemakers and violence, in order to maintain public peace and security.".
