The wave of arrests of yeshiva students: MK Yitzhak Pindros of the Torah Banner today (Monday) wrote a letter to President Yitzhak Herzog, asking him to prevent a civil war and stop the persecution of Torah scholars - just as he intervened to stop the legal reform.
""It is difficult to understand your deafening silence in light of the serious crisis currently afflicting the State of Israel with its persecution of members of the ultra-Orthodox community," wrote Phamsindros. "A crisis into which the state has been dragged by the Supreme Court and the Legal Advisor to the Government, whom you have fiercely defended.".
He mentioned: "Tens of thousands of Torah-working yeshivot students currently find themselves under the threat of arrest, administrative procedures, and targeted economic sanctions designed to harm them and their children.
""An entire public is being trampled and trampled upon, and the rift is getting worse day by day - a rift after which who will straighten us out?".
""Torah scholars have given their lives to the study of Torah throughout all generations, and it seems that even in the Land of Israel, if they are required to give their lives, they will do so, and even if for that purpose the yeshivots of Mir, Ponbiz, Hebron, Gur, and others are forced to study in caves as in the days of the Greeks and Romans, as we learned from our ancestors.".
