The Satmar Rebbe delivered an emergency sermon today (Thursday), which was broadcast live to all Hasidic centers around the world, in which the Rebbe launched a scathing attack against the use of artificial intelligence.
The Rebbe called for staying away from any device that allows access to AI - including kosher phones.
""On any phone at home, even a kosher phone, you can connect to this shell in an instant. There are many victims - young men, girls, and even teenagers. They fall and descend right into hell.".
The Rebbe defined AI as a more serious threat than any previous technology, and drew a comparison to the battles waged by the Haredi world in the past against computers, video, and smartphones.
""Then there was advice - not to bring these tools into the house. This time there is no such advice. It is everywhere, and parents have no supervision.".
The Rebbe imposed on the Hasidim the duty to inform: "Anyone who knows about another person who has a connection to AI is obligated to immediately report it to the Mossad management. If he does not say so, he is guilty of a crime.".
