As part of the expansion of the weapons reform led by the Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir: the city of Netanya, the settlement of Elishema in the South Sharon Regional Council, as well as settlements in the Yoav and Emek Hefer Regional Councils were declared eligible for a personal weapons license.
The decision was made after staff work and a professional examination by the Israel Police, and the professionals in the Firearms Licensing and Supervision Division.
Following the decision, citizens in these localities will be eligible to apply for a license, subject to meeting the criteria and conditions set forth in the law. The localities and councils join dozens of localities across the country that have already been designated as gun-eligible areas under the reform.
