Sergeant Noam Hamburger, 23, from Atlit, a technology and maintenance fighter in the 9th Battalion, "Iron Footprints," was killed in an operational activity in northern Israel.

The investigation into the incident shows that yesterday after 2:00 PM, Hezbollah terrorists launched two explosive drones. IDF fighters attempted to intercept them, but one of the drones hit a guard post at the outpost. At the time, there were a number of soldiers at the guard post and adjacent to it.

As a result of the drone explosion, three soldiers were injured. IDF medical forces that arrived at the scene pronounced Hamburger, a technology and maintenance soldier in the 9th Battalion, dead.

In the incident, one soldier was seriously injured and another was slightly injured and they were evacuated to the Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya.

Asif Isaac, head of the Carmel Beach Council, paid tribute to Hamburger. "The council mourns and grieves the death of one of its best sons. Noam was educated at the Kfar Galim school and was scheduled to be released in about a month," Isaac said.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed condolences: "My wife and I send our heartfelt condolences to the family of the soldier Sergeant Noam Hamburger, who fell near the northern border. Noam, from the village of Atlit, fought bravely to protect our villages and citizens against the terrorist organization Hezbollah. On behalf of all citizens of Israel, we embrace the family and loved ones of Noam, and wish a speedy and complete recovery to his friends who were injured in the difficult incident. May his memory be blessed.".

Yesterday, Hezbollah fired dozens of drones and missiles at IDF forces in southern Lebanon. Over ten explosive drones were launched into Israeli territory yesterday, one of which, as mentioned, caused the fighter to fall and his comrades to be injured.
