The Deputy Chief of Staff, the commander of Division 96, and other senior commanders took part in the tour.
During the visit, Netanyahu and Katz arrived at one of the central "waterline posts" in the sector - an advanced array of posts that recently underwent a thorough renovation and upgrade as part of a broad strategic plan to add front and thickened defense lines, intended to prevent weapons smuggling and massive infiltration attempts by pro-Iranian militias or terrorist elements.
As part of the tour, the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense received in-depth intelligence and operational reviews on the progress of efforts to strengthen defense, including the construction of a modern physical and technological barrier along the line, and the implementation of advanced observation, radar, and combat equipment.
Afterwards, they met for an open dialogue with the soldiers, both regular and reserve, who man the sector under complex conditions.
Netanyahu expressed appreciation for the fighting forces on the ground: "I am very impressed with the work you are doing here. It is a very important job to protect the eastern border. We take into account that our enemies want to invade the State of Israel, and therefore we trust you. I was very impressed with the new tools and means, but most of all I am impressed with you, and I want to strengthen you and tell you that the entire people of Israel trust you. And I salute you, well done to you!".
