Two boys, about 14 years old, were injured at noon (Wednesday), one of them seriously, after falling from a vehicle traveling near the settlement of Alon Moreh.
An initial investigation by police officers called to the scene revealed suspicions that a teacher of the students was driving some of them in the cargo box of a commercial vehicle. According to the suspicion, during the trip, the rear door of the box suddenly opened, and the two boys fell out onto the road.
Rescue forces, in cooperation with an IDF medical force, quickly arrived at the scene and provided initial medical treatment to the two injured.
One of the boys, 14 years old, is in serious condition, suffering from significant injuries to his head and back. Due to the severity of his injuries, it was decided to dispatch a helicopter that evacuated him directly to Linson Hospital in Petah Tikva.
The second boy was taken to the hospital in minor condition.
Israel Arbus, an MDA emergency medical technician who was one of the first to arrive at the scene: "When we arrived at the scene, we saw the injured man lying on the road. Local citizens told us that he had apparently fallen from a vehicle while driving. We gave him life-saving medical treatment, which included bandaging and stopping the bleeding, and evacuated him with the assistance of an IDF medical force to be transported by helicopter. Another injured man was evacuated from the scene in a minor condition.".
The police reported that the Ariel police station has officially opened an investigation into the circumstances of the serious traffic accident.
Police officers and traffic investigators arrived at the scene to collect evidence. At this point, the suspect driver and the commercial vehicle were detained and transferred to the police station for further investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
