The Haifa District Court, sitting as a maritime court, accepted the state's request and ordered the transfer of 11 vessels seized as part of the "Somod" flotilla to the ownership of the State of Israel.

These are vessels that attempted to violate the maritime blockade as part of a large-scale flotilla that was stopped by the Navy in October 2025, and whose owners did not respond to the confiscation request for about six months.

The request to confiscate the vessel was submitted through Attorney Einat Sterman-Cohen of the Haifa District Attorney's Office, in accordance with international law and the Maritime Law, which give the state the authority to seize and confiscate vessels that attempt to violate a legal maritime blockade.

Judge Ron Sokol accepted the state's position that the vessel owners did not appear for the proceedings despite knowing about it. "There is no doubt that the seizure of the vessels is known to their owners, both due to the extensive publicity that accompanied their seizure and due to the fact that the vessels have been held by the state for more than 6 months.".

After the survey and identification of the vessels are completed, ownership of the 11 vessels will be transferred to the State of Israel.
