The Ministry of the Interior has issued a 'call for proposals' to local authorities, in order to upgrade, improve and develop beach infrastructure in the State of Israel - with the aim of assisting authorities in preparing for the bathing season and improving infrastructure and public service at the beaches.
As part of the move, a 'call for proposals' was published, with the budget allowing authorities to carry out permanent development work such as upgrading access roads, crossings, and full accessibility for people with disabilities, while giving priority to authorities in need of government assistance and to projects with high execution availability.
In addition, a 'call for proposals' was published to upgrade and make infrastructural adjustments to the separate bathing beaches, with the aim of addressing physical and operational gaps at these beaches and improving access routes, partitions, and permanent facilities there.
These amounts are added to the ongoing budget that the Ministry of the Interior regularly provides to local authorities each year for the maintenance and development of bathing beaches.
Director General of the Ministry of the Interior, Israel Ozan: "The beaches are an important public resource for the residents of the State of Israel, and the Ministry of the Interior works together with local authorities to protect them, develop them, and improve service to the bathing public. Within this framework, we are allocating designated budgets to upgrade the bathing beaches, while providing a dedicated and focused response, for the first time this year, also to the separate bathing beaches, which have suffered over the years from significant infrastructure gaps and require focused treatment for the benefit of the public that requests bathing at a separate beach.".
