Serial assault on children in the Haifa and northern areas: The State Attorney's Office filed an indictment today (Monday) with the Haifa District Court against a Haifa resident for serious acts he committed against two children who were his students.
The indictment filed by Attorney Merav Bar of the Haifa District Attorney's Office indicates that the defendant, an educator in an educational setting in the north, committed serious acts against two minors, who were his students, on several occasions during the 2023-2025 school years.
The defendant worked as a teaching assistant and teacher at the special education school, and was responsible for the children.
The court has for the time being prohibited from publishing the defendant's name.
The indictment was filed after about a month ago, Haifa police officers opened a sensitive and complex investigation, after receiving a report of suspicion of serious acts committed against several children by a teaching staff member at an educational institution in the Haifa and northern areas.
As the investigation progressed, suspicion arose that the teacher had committed serious acts against approximately 6 children aged 10–14 who were among his students over the past two years.
The station's investigators carried out a variety of investigative and evidence-gathering activities, which ultimately succeeded in forming an evidentiary foundation against the suspect and proving that he committed his actions.
With the police's investigative actions, an indictment was filed against him, as mentioned, accompanied by a request to detain him until the end of the proceedings.
