In a serious accident that occurred tonight (Friday night) in the Yigal Yadin Tunnel in Jerusalem, two young people were seriously and critically injured in a self-inflicted accident.
Rescue forces called to the scene provided the injured with initial medical treatment and evacuated a 25-year-old man in critical condition, undergoing CPR, and a 25-year-old man in serious condition, unconscious, to Shaarei Tzedek.
Dudi Wertheimer, a United Hatzalah medic who was first to the scene, and paramedics Yair Cohen and Ovadia Antebi, said: "This is a vehicle that apparently crashed into a wall and as a result overturned. After the rescue operations of the fire forces, a 25-year-old man was rescued in critical condition. With the assistance of Dr. Adam Balin, a volunteer doctor at United Hatzalah, we performed CPR on him at the scene and then he was taken to the hospital while undergoing CPR. We also provided first aid to another man in critical condition.".
MDA paramedics Eli Eisenbach, Eli Ganzel and Nachman Shai Revivo said: "We saw a vehicle overturned on its side with significant damage to the metal, with two 25-year-old men trapped inside, one of whom was unconscious, without a pulse and not breathing, and the other in a hazy state of consciousness.
""During the rescue operations, we provided them with life-saving medical treatment, including CPR, and after they were rescued, we evacuated them to the hospital.""
