The commander of the Northern Command, Maj. Gen. Rafi Milo, decided to write a command note to the Givati Brigade Commander, Col. Netanel Shamka, authorizing the entry of four reserve and regular soldiers to the battle site where eight soldiers were killed in the Second Lebanon War, without operational necessity.

These are bereaved family members who were brought into the town of Bint Jbeil in southern Lebanon, without the required permits and without the area being completely cleared of terrorists.

The civilians, whose sons fell in the battles in Bint Jbeil, were admitted into the area shortly after the ceasefire went into effect. To allow their entry, a "military" procedure was carried out by the brigade commander in the field.
