Over the past week, police officers from the Rahat station and soldiers from the Border Police's Southern National Guard operated in several neighborhoods in the city, with the aim of preventing and thwarting criminal intent and shooting incidents, along with arresting perpetrators of crime and enforcing economic sanctions.
In an operational activity by the Southern Regional Police, a vehicle was stopped on Highway 40, and during a search, packages containing approximately $400,000 in cash were seized.
The driver, a resident of Rahat, was taken for questioning by the Money Laundering and Economic Enforcement Squad at the Negev Police Headquarters, on suspicion of committing money laundering and tax offenses, and the money was seized for forfeiture purposes.
Meanwhile, in raids carried out by forces from the Rahat Station and the South National Guard of the Border Police with the Sahar Special Operations Command, two pistols and ammunition were seized. Four suspects were detained for questioning.
