In an attempt to deal with Hezbollah's explosive drones, a delegation from the IDF's ground forces traveled to the United States to closely examine the use of 'fragmentation projectiles.'.
After the inspection, a directive was given to purchase hundreds of thousands of fragmentation bullets, adapted for weapons commonly used in the IDF, such as the American M-16 assault rifle and the Israeli Tavor assault rifle.
The projectiles are considered an effective solution against low-altitude aerial threats. The use of these projectiles was tested on the battlefield in the war between Ukraine and Russia.
The IDF estimates that the first shipment is expected to arrive as early as next week, and the intention is to equip every combat force in the sector with a dedicated cartridge specifically for the new bullets. (Source: Kan 11)
