Emergency forces in the Jerusalem area were called to a man who collapsed in a business in Beit Shemesh. MDA medics and paramedics provided medical treatment and performed CPR on the 69-year-old man. After administering a shock from a defibrillator, the patient's heart started beating again and he was evacuated in an MDA intensive care unit to Shaare Zedek Hospital, fully conscious and in good condition.
MDA paramedic Oshri Edri and MDA medic Avraham Asher Levy: "We received a report of a man who collapsed in a store. We arrived at the scene and saw a 69-year-old man lying unconscious with passersby around him. They told us that he had collapsed and immediately called MDA's 101 hotline and received a briefing for medical treatment. We performed medical tests and noticed that he had no pulse and was not breathing. We began performing advanced CPR, which included massages, ventilations, administering medication and administering an electric shock from a defibrillator, and after his heart started beating again, he regained full consciousness. While continuing treatment, we evacuated him in an MDA intensive care unit to the hospital in a stable condition.".
