In response to the judges' decision to only partially approve Netanyahu's request to be absent from his trial today due to the security situation, the Defense Minister issued a statement of strong condemnation against the judges.
Katz: "Beyond all the principled debate regarding the continuation of Netanyahu's trial, which I have stated regarding the need to cancel it, it is clear that as Minister of Defense, the reality in which the Prime Minister must come out in the middle of the trial to talk to me on the hotline about urgent security issues - in the current complex and sensitive security reality - is a violation of the state's security and an absurdity that must stop.".
