Sharon Sharabi, brother of captivity survivor Eli Sharabi and Yossi Sharabi, who was murdered by Hamas, spoke today (Tuesday) on the Be'er Sheva channel about his decision to enter the political world and join the Yisrael Beiteinu party.

""The issue of joining politics burned in me after all our abductees returned home," he said. "I can say that this decision is not easy, but after two and a half years of support from the people of Israel, from end to end, my joining is a kind of gratitude. I have plowed the whole of Israel, I have seen things that are less good for our society. And if I can come a little and make amends, then I will do it with a real mission.".
Sharabi, who joined the ultra-Orthodox party, said that one of the things he would like to fix is the public discourse: "Israel still faces significant challenges. I liked the discourse I heard less. Skeptical people say that the polarization created here is irreparable. But I'm not giving up. I know how to wage a struggle, I've already felt it up close and I'm not giving up, certainly for the sake of the people of Israel. We have no other alternative, I think the common denominator between us is greater than any disagreement. I mean every word.".
Sharabi said that he debated entering politics with his brother, captivity survivor Eli Sharabi: "Eli and politics are two parallel lines that will never meet. Honestly, he doesn't like my joining politics as much, but as soon as I made the decision to join, he congratulated me. He told me, 'A great mission, take care of yourself. And I really hope that you will bring the values we grew up with to the Knesset.'".
