According to the police, the forces are working resolutely to prevent attempts to infiltrate the complex, while preventing the arrival of hundreds of buses and private vehicles.
In the afternoon, following an indication received by the police, several buses were stopped, carrying hundreds of people who were making their way to Meron in violation of the instructions.
When the buses stopped, the passengers - some with children from the 'Halaka' - got off and began blocking the traffic route. The same was true on the way down the coastal road towards Zichron Yaakov.
Northern District police and the Traffic Division, along with Border Guard soldiers, worked at the scene to open the traffic lanes and direct road users to alternative routes - and after quick action by the police, the Megiddo Intersection was opened to traffic.
The police statement said: "The police clarify that given the security situation and Home Front Command guidelines, staying in the mountain area without a permit poses a danger to the public. The operational effort is intended first and foremost to protect the safety of citizens.".
