A large-scale initiative to restore and rebuild surrounding agriculture is underway.: After the severe damage, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and the Reconstruction Administration are publishing a new support procedure for capital investments in agriculture in the communities around the Gaza Envelope (0-7 km).

The Ministry of Economy has determined: 'Carrefour' - 100 products permanently in Israel's cheap basket • Promoter

As part of the move, up to 72 million shekels will be allocated in 2026 to restore and accelerate agricultural activity in the area, which was severely damaged following the terrorist attack on October 7, 2023.

The new procedure includes a wide range of support tools tailored to needs that have emerged from the field: purchasing advanced agricultural equipment, constructing and rehabilitating greenhouses and growth houses, upgrading water and irrigation infrastructure, and implementing innovative agricultural technologies and advanced control systems for crop management.

In addition, the plan includes investments in production-supporting infrastructure, including: packing houses, agricultural produce processing facilities, strengthening livestock farms such as barns, coops and sheds, as well as measures to ensure functional continuity, such as generators and electrical connections to remote growing areas.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and the Tekoma Administration emphasize that the procedure was built in accordance with the needs that arose from the field and in cooperation with the farmers themselves, to allow both small and large farms to return to full activity and even expand. The move is part of the multi-year strategic plan for the rehabilitation of the Tekoma region, which was defined as a national focus area, with the understanding that agriculture is a central anchor for the economic and social resilience of the region.
