""Certainly forming a government with Mansour Abbas is more difficult," Smotrich stated.
Later, after elements on the left and in the media began to distort his words, Smotrich published a clarification on his X account:
""Let it be clear - to anyone who tries to play petty politics on the backs of those who fell and were murdered on October 7 - you are not of interest to me. What hurts me is the many people who are hurt by your distortion of my words, and it is important for me to clarify to them:
The question I was asked and answered was what The political act What's worse - going into government with Hamas consciously and intentionally out of a desire for honor and power, or sitting in a government during whose tenure a terrible massacre occurred in which Hamas attacked the State of Israel and murdered thousands of our people.
So yes, knowingly going into government with Hamas, through lies, deception, and vote-stealing, is the most serious act that Israeli politics has ever known.
"The massacre committed by Hamas is one of the most horrific we have known since the Holocaust and there is nothing that compares to it. To you, the media - if you are trying to take my words out of context and belittle the massacre, you are evil and liars.".
