Iran launched two salvos of cruise missiles toward the United Arab Emirates this evening (Monday). In the first salvo, three of the missiles were intercepted and one fell into the sea. In the second salvo, three people were injured.
The launch took place about two hours after Emirati residents received emergency messages on their mobile phones about an imminent missile threat from Iran, and were asked to enter protected buildings.
At the same time as the missile firing, it was also reported that a drone had hit a petrochemical facility in the Emirates, causing a large fire.
Dubai and Sharjah airports have halted flights to and from them, and additional alarms are sounding in these areas.
World markets, wary of any movement in the Persian Gulf, reacted immediately, and oil prices rose another three and a half percent.
A senior Emirati source told CNN: An American-Israeli attack is expected within the next 24 hours.
