After several very warm days, winter weather in May: According to the Meteorological Service, the last time we were visited by similar weather was in May 1986 - exactly 40 years ago.
The weather affecting us has brought snow from 1000 meters in Turkey, while in Mount Hermon and the Lebanese mountains it has snow piled up from 2000 meters, and later today the snow level may even drop by several hundred meters.

Temperatures in the Upper Galilee and northern Golan fell with the arrival of the cold front in the morning to below 10 degrees, accompanied by strong winds.
In the Western and Upper Galilee, 10 mm of heavy rain fell by noon, in some places even accompanied by hail.
Rain is expected to continue to fall intermittently throughout the day, mainly in the northern mountains, and will finally stop tomorrow evening.
