Spring surprise: Snow began falling today (Monday) at the upper level of the Hermon site, at an altitude of 2,000 meters above sea level.
The temperature at the site dropped to -2°, accompanied by strong gusts of wind and the accumulation of a few centimeters of snow so far.
This is a rare weather event for the month of May, with the last time it snowed in the upper reaches during this period being in 2011.
Snow has not been recorded in the lower level of the site in May since the 1960s.

Miki Inbar, VP of Marketing and spokesperson for the Hermon website, commented on the unusual weather and noted that the current system is surprising at the time. According to her, "Every drop is important for the balance.".
The Hermon site management is monitoring the development of the winter system that reached its peak at the site this morning. The early forecast that predicted white precipitation came true, bringing with it a winter atmosphere in the midst of spring.
