In the afternoon, a report was received of a concentrated fish mortality event in the Ma'agan area, in the southern Sea of Galilee.
Upon receiving the report, teams from the Ministry of Health, the Water Authority, and Mekorot arrived at the scene and conducted fish and water sampling from several points. The samples were immediately transferred to Mekorot laboratories and the Sea of Galilee Research Institute for comprehensive testing to determine the cause of death and to examine the water quality.
The professional bodies conduct ongoing status assessments and continuously monitor water quality, including ruling out any abnormalities in environmental parameters.
Currently, there are no restrictions on the use of drinking water or bathing in the lake.
The authorities are working in full cooperation to ensure public health and the preservation of the ecosystem, and we will update you accordingly with the test findings.
