After the stabbing attack in the Golders Green neighborhood: London Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley said today (Saturday) that "British Jews are facing the greatest threat ever.".
According to a report by Dov Gilhar in 'Kan News', the police chief said that the threat is driven by "extremism, online radicalization and hate crimes.".
He also warned of an "epidemic of anti-Semitism" linked to international conflicts, and expressed concern about large-scale protests planned this weekend.
Rowley told The Times: "Jews are on everyone's list. Whether on the far right, the far left or Islamist terrorists. Social media has led people to get their opinions from 'non-traditional sources' - and anti-Semitism has become mainstream.".
The police chief has asked Prime Minister Keir Starmer to urgently approve funding for almost 300 additional police officers, including units trained in firearms, to protect Jewish communities.
Earlier today, the Chief Public Prosecutor warned of a "very worrying rise" in anti-Semitic incidents across the UK, as prosecutors deal with a growing number of hate crime cases and recent attacks targeting Jewish communities.
He vowed to use the "full force of the law" against the perpetrators of the crime, including through tougher charges and terrorism legislation if necessary.
British Prime Minister Starmer called on Saturday for stronger action against pro-Palestinian protesters who chant incitement slogans, including calls for a global intifada.
Last Wednesday, two Haredim were stabbed and seriously injured in the Jewish neighborhood of Golders Green. The terrorist, born in Somalia, was arrested by the "Guardians" organization.
The British extremist group affiliated with Iran - "The Right-wingers" - took responsibility for the stabbing attack in posts on accounts affiliated with the Iranian axis.
