Against the backdrop of the security escalation in the north: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today (Friday) signed Home Front Command restrictions in the Mount Meron area, prohibiting gatherings of more than 200 people in an open area - so the outline presented yesterday, which was supposed to allow thousands of participants to participate in the revelry at the same time, is no longer relevant.

The restrictions were imposed following intelligence and operational information, and as a result, it was decided to move Meron and the surrounding communities from "green" to "yellow" status.

The meaning of the Home Front Command's new guidelines: Now the Ministry of Jerusalem and Israeli Tradition will formulate a new and significantly reduced outline.

These are the new guidelines in the Meron area:

The confrontation line guidance area and the communities of Meron, Bar Yochai, Or HaGnuz and Safsofeh will move to a partial activity level.

Educational activity - Activities can be held in a building or place from which a standard protected space can be reached during the defense.

Workplaces - Activities can be carried out in a building or place from which a standard protected space can be reached during the defense period.

Gatherings - open space up to 200 people and in a building up to 600 people.

The rest of the guidelines in the defense policy remain unchanged.

The Ministry of Jerusalem and Jewish Tradition responded to the restrictions in a press release: "In accordance with the updated guidelines of the Home Front Command, we would like to announce that significant changes have occurred in the event's outline. The event will not take place in the original approved outline due to the strict security restrictions imposed on the confrontation line area and the settlements of the Marom HaGalil Regional Council (including Meron, Or HaGnuz, Safsofeh and Bar Yohai).

""Currently, in the Meron area, gatherings of up to 200 people can be held in an open area and up to 600 people in a closed structure only. A detailed announcement regarding the conduct of the site will be published once final decisions are made by the authorized levels.".

Last night, the Ministry of Jerusalem and Jewish Tradition presented the details of the updated outline for the Rashbi celebration in Meron - which was approved by the Home Front Command and formulated in coordination with the Israel Police.

The outline included approval of 10 different complexes throughout Meron, which are divided between Zion Rashbi, the Bnei Akiva complex, Moshav Meron, and the expanded Hilula complex (89).

According to the outline, some of the complexes were limited to gatherings of less than 1,500 people depending on the size of the area and licensing conditions.

The plan was supposed to operate in two-hour rounds, so that 1,500 people could ascend to Meron every hour.

The outline also considered safety spaces for timekeepers, participants, residents of Meron and the surrounding area, ushers, and production workers – all with the goal that at no point would the number of participants in the celebration exceed 10,200 people.

According to the plan, the total number of participants in the celebration was supposed to be 37,500 people - 1,500 people per hour × 25 hours, to which residents of Meron and the surrounding area would be added.

In accordance with the established policy, the outline was supposed to include an overall safety margin of 25 percent at any given moment, to ensure maximum preparedness for any scenario.
