Jerusalem: 24-year-old arrested on suspicion of breaking into 15 vehicles

On April 24, 2026, a report was received at the police hotline 100 regarding a vehicle break-in in the Kiryat Moriah neighborhood of Jerusalem.

Upon receiving the report, police officers from the Oz Police Station in the Jerusalem District were called to the scene. Upon arrival at the scene, it became clear that this was a large-scale incident of damage and break-ins to vehicles.

The investigation revealed that 11 buses and 4 private vehicles were broken into, causing extensive damage to property.

As part of an investigation, combined with advanced technological means, the station's investigators were able to trace the identity of the suspect in the act. The suspect, 24 years old, a resident of East Jerusalem, was arrested and brought in for questioning.

Yesterday, the suspect was brought to a hearing to extend his detention at the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court, which extended his detention until May 4, 2026.
