Yaakov Wider, a member of the Bnei Brak City Council and a member of the municipal naming committee, submitted today (Thursday) a request for a discussion in the City Council regarding the commemoration of Nasiya Karadi, 10, who was killed by an Iranian missile strike in the city on the eve of Passover - and died of her wounds last Shabbat evening.
According to the proposal, the municipal naming committee will meet within a month of her passing to discuss the methods of commemoration, which will be determined in full coordination with her family and in accordance with her wishes.
Among the options that will be considered: naming a street after her, naming a kindergarten or public garden, establishing a community memorial corner, as well as educational and community initiatives that will bear her name and operate in the spirit of the values of kindness and giving.
Yaakov Wider: "All of our hearts are broken by the difficult news. It is our duty to commemorate Nessia in a respectful and meaningful way, one that will remain in the heart of the city and reflect the values of Judaism and kindness, as she was raised in the home of her dear parents.""
