Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir visited the 36th Division in the area of the town of A-Tayyiba in southern Lebanon today (Wednesday).
The visit was attended by Northern Command Commander Major General Rafi Milo, Ground Force Commander Major General Nadav Lotan, Division Commander Brigadier General Yiftach Norkin, brigade commanders, and battalion commanders.
During the visit, the Chief of Staff conducted an operational situation assessment, heard briefings from the division and brigade commanders, gave instructions for the continuation of the fighting, and spoke with the battalion commanders fighting in the Lebanese territory.
Later, the Chief of Staff met with the head of the Hermon Entrance Council, Benny Ben Mobhar.
Zamir: "We are in a historic war, and there is a generation of heroism here. Heroic company commanders and company commanders - there has been no equal since the generation of 1948. You are waging exemplary battles here and I salute you. We are fighting with an understanding of the magnitude of the hour.".

""Regarding threats at the borders - we have changed the perception, we will not allow a terrorist army to exist on our borders. ""We have achieved everything that the political echelon defined for us regarding the current campaign in Iran and Lebanon, and even beyond that. And in doing so, we have created the operational conditions for the processes that the political echelon is now leading.".
""In Lebanon, the task assigned to us by the political echelon is to stand on the line to prevent direct fire on the communities. We have achieved this - this is the line we are on. We may be required to remain on it. We will not tolerate attacks and fire on our communities, and we will not leave until security is guaranteed for the communities of the north over time.
""We continue fighting and work to ensure the deepening of operational achievements and the protection of our forces. There is no ceasefire on the fighting front - you continue to fight, remove direct and indirect threats from the northern settlements, thwart terrorist infrastructures, and locate and kill terrorists.".
""Any threat, anywhere, to our settlements or our forces - including beyond the Yellow Line and north of the Litani - will be removed. Your mission and duty is to operate with freedom of action and remove any threat. At this stage, we are not advancing beyond the line, but we will continue to operate and remove threats freely. The forces on the ground continue to operate, and there is no limit to thwarting infrastructure and killing terrorists.".
